So myself and OB took the bikes out for a nocturnal ride, thanks to the power of MagicShine lights! Crazy amount of fun shredding a trail you don’t know at all in pure darkness. Amazing too that we had no major spills and thankfully no flats! Can’t wait to hit it again!
So this is my second attempt at a time-lapse video, it was a very spontaneous affair, I was on the way down to the bar and realized there would be no one in the room for a couple of hours so I thought I’d see what I could do…of course it turned out there wasn’t much charge in the camera battery. I’m very happy with the results, short n sweet, but the 4 second exposures captured some really nice lights. I then tried some Ken Burns on the footage just as a learning experience, between the exporting, importing and re-exporting there was some adverse affects on picture quality but I’ll get the settings right eventually. It’s all a learning experience.
So I’ve bought my traveling tripod, more details another day and this is my first attempt at doing a time lapse. The footage is all raw in that I haven’t applied any effects. It was a good learning experience, I wasn’t sure how the settings would handle the changing light, in the end the city lights become over exposed so maybe the camera settings need to be altered during the shoot? The last few shots seem to show up a green reflection of the city in the sky, I’m not sure where or what caused this. Finally, the experiment was cut short due to a technical hiccup, I was aiming for 60 seconds of final video but no harm. All feedback is welcome as to how I might improve results for my second outing. Was all fun anyway, if not a little cold sitting on the dock.
